Dear Minister Sandals:
I’m writing with respect to the situation endured by students with Autism in Ontario whose families face significant hurdles in having trained, certified service dog companions accompany their children into school.
Queen’s Park – “Does the minister agree that families of children with autism shouldn’t have their service dogs taken away from them when they get to school?”
That was the question in the Legislature from MPP Michael Harris following reports of difficulties faced by families of children with autism in having designated service dogs allowed at school.
On Canada’s National Day of Mourning for workers killed or injured on the job, the Ontario Waste Management Association (OWMA) and the Ontario Road Builders’ Association (ORBA) are pleased to mark this important day and announce its support for a Private Member’s Bill introduced by Michael Harris, MPP for Kitchener- Conestoga, which amends the Ontario’s Highway Traffic Act to provide better protections to front line workers collecting waste and recyclables at the curb and road builders.
