OUR WINDSOR – Ontario pledges $5 million to winter maintenance after scathing auditor general report

Motorists will see more salt spreaders and faster action from plows as the province tries to improve winter road maintenance after a damning report from Ontario’s auditor general found more weather-related traffic deaths.

Another $5 million has been set aside for the upgrade, which will include more de-icing liquids on roads and highways before storms hit and more roadside weather stations so crews can be alerted to changing conditions, Transportation Minister Steven Del Duca said Friday. Read More
