When will Wynne order stolen documents returned?

June 13, 2013

QUEEN’S PARK – Premier Kathleen Wynne must order Liberal staffers to co-operate with the Ontario Provincial Police’s investigation into her government’s gas-plant scandal by turning over all stolen documents immediately, PC MPP Michael Harris said today.

“Less than 24 hours ago, the OPP was at Queen’s Park to begin investigating this illegal and corrupt activity. Still, Wynne hasn’t taken any action to retrieve stolen documents believed to be in the possession of Liberal staffers, some of whom still work for the government,” Harris said.

“It’s time for the Premier to assist the police in their investigation by turning these documents over today.”

Harris noted that if Wynne fails to work with police she is implicating herself in this illegal activity.

“Dalton McGuinty and Kathleen Wynne wasted a billion dollars of taxpayer money to save Liberal seats and now Wynne is refusing to be accountable with Ontarians.”

Taxpayers deserve to know why Premier Wynne will not answer tough questions about the gas-plant scandal and has refused to order these stolen documents returned.

“What is in those documents? What information is she hiding from the public? We still don’t have answers to those questions,” Harris asked. “Ontario deserves better. We need a government that is going to stop putting its political interests ahead of Ontarians.”
